1066 and all that!

Oliver Class treated us to a historical extravaganza in their class assembly as they retold the story of the Norman Conquest complete with Kings squabbling for the throne, battle poems, explanation of the Bayeux Tapestry and a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings. It was also a time to showcase all their wonderful home learning projects which have focused on castles. If the audience was in any danger of forgetting the key facts captured in the Bayeux Tapestry, they needn’t have worried. Oliver Class taught the school and parents ‘the 12 facts of the Bayeux Tapestry’ sung to the tune of ’12 days of Christmas’.
It culminated in the unforgettable lines…
‘ …2 warring kings
..and a arrow in the eye’
